I just sent my 10 year old an email. But we also flew a kite today.

Dance the night away

The 6 year old came up to me and asked what I was a nerd for.  Before my answer I said at her age she should go on ahead and be a nerd for as many things as possible–>  grab and explore anything(s) you like —>   really get into it(s).

“Like I’m a ninja-nerd, and a speed dance and animal nerd,” she described.

Ah yes, and I further explained that at my age you should have probably honed in on a thing or maybe two if you’re blessed that you’re really into, with nerd-like dedication. That seemed to work best in most cases.

So you ask me what I’m a nerd for daughter  —>   well I am for Daddy’ing and am also deeply committed to nerding out on Magic.

It’s like the sign(s) are already always there, it’s just a matter of if we read them or not that probably matters.

There’s like a million things right-> here’s a few:

• A new basketball hoop might be saving my life.
• Appreciate avocados and bananas more now.
• Kids/neighbor kids have cross- street picnics.
• Kids/neighbor kids bike around sometimes.
• I wonder how the kids/neighbor kids/world kids are processing this all.
• Waves of hurt for the hurting people and businesses.
• Stopped trying to stop the waves. I’m an ocean now.
• Someone brought us burgers.
• I talked a Verizon customer service rep quarantined in Houston off a ledge–> didn’t really get my questions answered but it felt good to help.
• Had a parade down our street.
• My family might be saving my life.
• Miss sports on TV.
• Weekly now a weird-revisit to Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.  Seen kids weird-revisit Sid the Science Kid on their own.
• Seen big good and big bad in people. I feel now we’re maybe leaning good.
• Written letters to many–> put Yo! MTV Raps cards in some. We’ve gotten sweet letters back from Boomer’s Burgers, The Bagelry, Mallard and our Family/Friends.
• Yo! MTV Raps cards might be saving my life.
• Made brownies a bigger thing than they already were.
• Damn. What’s gonna’ happen now?
• Not so much Tiger King–>  more Last Dance.
• Have dry skin.
• Miss live music.
• Am a worker still and a Teacher now.
• FIFA Game(s).
• Music History lessons might be saving my life.
• Really mean it now when I thank the mail-person.
• Both kids now independently log on and check their email and show me how to share my screen.
• Breaking peace-sign giving/receiving records.
• Had our own Derby Day.
• Became the Lion King.
• My brain has gotten older but my heart has gotten younger.
• We are proud Tiger Ninjas (home school mascot).
• Zoom now.
• Created a circus act.
• Wi-Fi barely hanging on now

and we keep going while mostly staying.
